Introducing Sam
Phew... I always get so nervous typing my first posts on blogs. But here goes...
A little while ago (a long while ago) I became an avid Doctor Who fan. Since I was little I loved the series and my most admired Doctor was Patrick Troughton, the Second Doctor. Later, when the internet became big and I got sucked in, my love of Doctor Who got rekindled and I did a little research on some of my old fav. actors, Pat included. It was then that I discovered The Adventures Of Robin Hood - starring the marvelous Richard Greene (and, as it happened, Patrick Troughton... for a few episodes). This sparked off another old love - that of the legend of Robin Hood.
Time passed and then, out of the blue, the BBC announced a brand spanking sparkly new version of Robin Hood. Was I excited? You bet I was! And then I hear a strange thing: a particular actor is to star in it, a Mr Sam Troughton, who just so happens to be the grandson of the great and wonderful Patrick Troughton. Well, I was curious sure, but what of it? He maybe related to a great actor, that doesn't mean he is one. And then I watched the show...
Yes, maybe I was biased from the beginning, but I fell in love with the odd little comical sidekick known as Much. Not to mention I recognised Sam (who I HAD seen before, unwittingly) and now I am one happily obsessed little fan. And like most fans I want to do something with my obsession (ok, polite curiousity...) and so I thought I'd try and fill the woeful gap in the fansite world and give Sam Troughton a little praise and encouragement. Not to mention give myself a little space to rant and rave about Robin Hood old and new. And please don't blame me if there's a smattering of Doctor Who love sprinkled over my blog also... it comes with me wherever I go.
Enjoy. And remember, spread the Sam Love. I know I will.
